This South Carolina coastal log home is made of Tidewater Red Cypress that was harvested from the brackish waters of the Gulf Coast of Florida. This is one of only two homes in the area. Log homes are extremely rot and insect resistant. The logs and beams were screwed into place with 12" lag bolts and extra strapping and bracing were added for additional strength making it extremely storm resistant. The roof joists are 2x8 and the sub-floor consists of 2x10 joists. As you enter the home you will immediately notice the open feeling and the huge ceilings in the living area. The ceilings are tongue and groove pine ceilings with 6x8 cypress heavy timber beams. There is a beautiful stone fireplace as the focal point of the living area.
